OBITUARY: Dale Graves
Dale Graves, 86, Topeka, died Wed., June 30, 2010, at home. He was born Oct. 19, 1923, at Havensville, the son of Alphus and Isla V. (Goodman) Graves. He graduated from Wheaton High School and Strickler's Business College. He was a farmer at Onaga, and retired from Martin Tractor Company. Dale was a WW II Army Veteran and was a life-member of Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion. He was married to Lorna Mae Perry on June 13, 1947, at Havensville. Surviving are his wife: Lorna Mae; a son: Doug Graves (Dotty); 4 daughters: Linda Leonard, Connie Knebel (Denny), Debbie Tillotson (Buddy) and Cherie Herring (Jr.); 2 sisters: Isla Mae Gates and Lois Sloop; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Sat., July 3, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, followed by military honors conducted by a Fort Riley U.S. Army Detail.
