Dale A. Howe, 71, of Topeka passed away Friday, March 2, 2012.
He was born the youngest son of C.B. and Ruth (Kennedy) Howe on November 6, 1940 in Manhattan, grew up in old Randolph and graduated from Randolph High School in 1958. He worked as the General Manager of Roach Hardware stores. He also worked for Bill Kobach GMC Buick and for the Topeka Capital Journal as a newspaper carrier.
Dale married Judy Furgason on September 3, 1961 at Herington, KS. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Cindy (Jeff) Vonfeldt, Olathe, KS; three sons, Mark (Tonya) Howe, Milford, IN and Chris and Darren Howe, Topeka; four grandchildren, Haley and Megan Vonfeldt and Matthew and Michael Howe; two sisters, Joanne Dobson, Ramona, CA, and Nancy Harter, Claremont, CA; and two brothers, Glenn Howe, Layton, UT and David Howe, Kiln, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Virginia Lund, and three brothers, C.K., Don and Richard Howe.
Mr. Howe was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Please join the family in honoring Dale's love of all things Riley County and K-State by wearing your favorite jeans and purple to the service.
