Dorothy "Darlene" (Rodgers) Ross
Darlene Ross passed away Tues., May 9, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. She had cancer. She was born April 20, 1934, in Melvern, KS to Ralph and Betty Throne Rodgers. She grew up in Emporia, KS and graduated from Emporia High School.
She is survived by her companion Bill Vinning, and a brother, George Bulson, Hartford, KS a step-sister Naomi Nichols, Emporia, KS and several nieces and nephews.
She worked for Southwestern Bell for 35 years and is a member of Telephone Pioneers and United Methodist Church of Melvern, KS.
She was married to Dennis W. "Butz" Kraft on Dec. 29, 1955. They were divorced.She was married to Delbert C. Ross on July 4, 1974. They were divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Ralph Rodgers.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Sat., May 13, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Darlene will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
