OBITUARY: Cynthia " Cindy" Sue Downing
Cynthia Sue Downing, 66, Topeka, died Fri., April 5, 2013, at Midland Hospice House. She was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Topeka, the daughter of Fred L. and Lois C. (Ogle) English.
Cynthia attended Topeka High School and had worked in the Docking State Office Building.
She was married to Richard W. Downing in August, 1963, in Topeka. Surviving are her husband Richard Downing of the home; 2 daughters: Tamila K. Downing and Susan Torrez (Martin); her mother: Lois English; a sister: Crystal K. Bardsley (George); 5 grandchildren; and 8 ½ great-grandchildren, all of Topeka.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Wed., April 10, 2013, at Vassar Cemetery. Cynthia will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.
