Cynthia Joy "Cindy" Reed

Cynthia "Cindy" Joy Reed, 24, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born March 22, 1979, in Manhattan, the daughter of Patrick and Faye Reed, Topeka, and Brenda and Vernon Minnis, Stafford. She graduated from Chaparral High School in 1997 as a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Cowley County Community College and Washburn University. She was employed as a special education para-professional at Perry-Lecompton High School. She was a member of Harper United Methodist Church. Cindy is survived by her parents; her grandparents, Gertrude Reed and Henry Waltz, both of Manhattan, and Nadine Minnis, St. John; her brother, David Reed, Portland, Ore.; her companion, Tony Miller, Topeka; and three children, Bobby DeLeon and Selena DeLeon, Stafford, and Emaily Leslie, Perry. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grantville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sandy Vogel presiding. She will lie in state after 3 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the children's education fund and sent to 2621 N.E. Henderson, Topeka, 66617.
