OBITUARY: Curtis William Hoke, Jr.
Curtis Wm. Hoke, Jr., 88, Topeka died Sat., July 8, 2006, at his home. He was born Aug. 1, 1917, at Lincoln, NE the son of Curtis Wm. Hoke, Sr. and Olive Flora (Moore) Hoke.
Curt was a World War II Veteran having served as a Second Lieutenant with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before retiring and moving to Topeka. He was a member of Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion and Philip Billard Post # 1650, V.F.W.
He was married to Betty June (Blanchard) Goodwin on April 1, 1987 at Ozawkie.
Surviving are his wife, Betty, of the home; a daughter: Sharon Howard of Topeka; a son: Phillip D. Hoffsett of Topeka; a granddaughter: Dana G.Flippo and her husband, John M., of Topeka; and a great-grandson: Anthony M. Flippo of Topeka.
Private committal services will be at Topeka Cemetery. Curt will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tues., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
