Constance A. "Connie" Smith
Constance A. "Connie" Smith, 45, Topeka, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at a Topeka hospice house. She was born in Spokane, Wash., to Richard W. and Joan M. Jennings Parker. She had held a variety of positions throughout her adult life, including work as an over-the-road truck driver for MNX truck lines. Survivors include two sons, Deacon W. Smith and Richard P. Smith, both of Eskridge; her father, Richard W. Parker, Topeka; two sisters, Kimberly J. Mulvaney, Irving, Texas, and Jeanne L. Bunting, Auburn; and a companion, Brian Rice, Topeka. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Burial will be in Denison Cemetery in Denison. Connie will lie in state after 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606-2800.
