Colton Chad Christenson
Colton Chad Christenson, 18, Topeka, died January 5, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center. Colton was born March 19, 1996, in Topeka the son of Paul P. and Tracy E. (Ramey) Christenson.
Colton attended Seaman Schools, attending Pleasant Hill, Rochester, and West Indianola Grade Schools, Seaman Middle School and Seaman High School. He had completed his first semester at Washburn University where he was working toward a business degree with a concentration in accounting.
Colton had worked at Little Caesar's Pizza and was currently employed by Topeka Country Club. Colton's Grandfather Robert Ramey started Colton and his older brothers playing golf at an early age. He was an avid golfer and played four years for the Seaman High School Golf Team. Colton helped the Seaman Golf Team place at State multiple years. He had also played in several basketball leagues throughout his childhood. Colton cherished all of his teammates, coaches, and friends, and in turn was loved by everyone. He always had a smile and was an extremely caring and passionate individual. He loved his Kansas teams – KU Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas City Royals.
Surviving are his mother and step-father: Tracy Christenson-McLinn and Robert McLinn; father and step-mother: Paul and Melissa Christenson; siblings: Tanner Christenson (Ash Garren), Conner Christenson (Jordan Christenson), and Delaney Christenson; and grandfather: Robert Ramey.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery, 1601 SW Tenth Avenue, Topeka.
Colton will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Friday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
