Cloyd M. Hayes, Jr., of Topeka passed away at his home on March 2, 2024. He was born March 20, 1946, at Victoria, Texas the son of Cloyd M. Hayes, Sr. and Virginia Dzienglewicz Hayes. He attended high school in Galveston, Texas. Cloyd served his country following high school, serving in the United States Army. He later attended Amarillo College. Cloyd lived in several places in Texas prior to moving to Topeka. He worked as a freight claims adjustor the Santa Fe Railroad for over 25 years. Later he worked at Goodyear as a tire builder for 10 years and finally as a security guard at the Prairie Band Casino.
He was married to Pam on December 31, 1970 in Amarillo. She survives at their home in Topeka.
Other survivors include, daughter, Holly Hayes Winn and husband Robert of Lawrence, Kansas, Robin Hayes Crawford and husband Travis of Lakeville, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kiona and Kade Crawford of Lawrence, Ks; step-granddaughter, Kelsey Winn of Topeka; great grandsons, Joshua Murphy and Adonis Winn of Topeka; and brother-in-law, Pat Burns.
Preceding him in death are his children, Krystal Hayes and Brent Hayes; his parents, Cloyd M. Hayes, Sr., Virgina Dzienglewicz Hayes; siblings, Tootsie Burns, Melvin Hayes, and Patsy Polston; and his mother and father-in-law, Kirk and Gladys Phillips.
