Clifton Taylor was a good husband, father ,grandfather, and friend. Most importantly, he was agood man. He left this life on March 30, 2023 at age 86.
He was born to Clifton W. Taylor and Verlia May (Stadel) Taylor in Olsburg, KS on July 8, 1936.
Upon graduation from high school, he joined the Army and served in Germany. While stationed in Murnau, he successfully completed the course in demolitions, mines, and booby traps at U.S. Army Engineer-Ordnance School, Europe.
Upon his return from service, he re-united with a former flame, falling in love and marrying Patricia (Pat) Clark in December 1963. Their combined good humor, spirit, and mischievous personalities, even when directed at each other, helped them build a marriage that achieved 59 years and a family that will last far longer.
Cliff was a people person and could carry on a conversation for hours if you let him. A hardworking man who at home, could be found working in the yard, tending his rather large vegetable garden, or repairing small engines. This would become the foundation for his future small engine repair business.
Cliff enjoyed fishing, grilling, and making homemade ice cream, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He loved babysitting his grandson and taking him for rides in his truck, which sometimes led to speeding tickets. He loved talking to and teaching his granddaughter about gardening. Even now, he watches over HER vegetable garden.
His wife, Pat, survives of the home. Also surviving are two sons: David Taylor and Mike Taylor; and two grandchildren: Morgan Depine, her husband Riley Depine and Garrett Taylor and his fiancé Rachel Schuetz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings.
Cremation is planned and Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
