Clifford Earl Funk

Clifford E. Funk, age 77, of Topeka, passed away December 7, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.  Cliff was born October 6, 1944 in Montana Mines, West Virginia the son of Russell and Ethel Ruby (Sigley) Funk.  Cliff served in the U.S. Navy for over 27 years.  He married Carolyn Sue Vandegrift, they later divorced.  He then married Diana Ruth Brandt. Cliff was a member of the Church of Christ, California Acres.  Cliff was active in Boy Scouts, earning the Silver Beaver Award.  He served as Advanced Chairman of Troop 30 and Sunflower District.  He also served as Unit Commission of the Jayhawk Area Council.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ralph, Harry and Aubra.  He is survived by his wife, Diana Funk of Topeka; six sons, Carl (Diane) Funk of Fairmont, WV, Clifford (Linda) Funk, Jr. of Independence, MO, William (Elvie) Funk of Topeka, Steven (Crystal) Funk of Topeka, Blaine (Treva) Funk of Topeka and Paul R.B. Funk of Topeka; a daughter, Tammy (Terry) McHency of Fairmont, WV; a brother, Evert (Bonnie) Funk of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Margaret Boydoh of Richmond, VA, Loretta (Wayne) Denton of Roanoke, VA and Judy (John) Teagarden of Buckhallow, WV; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  He will lie in state Monday from noon – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Interment will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 30 or American Heart Association and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
