Obiturary: Clifford Earl Jessepe
Clifford Earl Jessepe, 55, Topeka, died Thurs., May 14, 2008, at his home. He was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Lawrence, the son of Lester and Beulah Jessepe who are both deceased. He is survived by Bruce Jessepe of Kansas City, MO; Leslie Jessepe and her husband, Charles Jessepe; Evon Jessepe; Lorraine Jessepe and her husband, Charles Enloe; and Adam Jessepe, all of Topeka. Clifford was a caring person and a servant of the residents of the City of Topeka through his wolunteer activities in the community. He was a devoted and supportive son to his father during his father's life and particularly supportive to his father during his father's political activities as Tribal Chairperson of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Clifford was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and an active member of the Assumption Catholic Church. Clifford enjoyed volunteering for The Salvation Army during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season as a bellringer fund raiser. He also volunteered at the Topeka Community Thanksgiving dinner year after year and also at the Let's Help Community Center. Clifford offered and performed unselfish assistance to the flood victims of the 1992 Topeka Flood.
Clifford's childlike way along with the teachings of his elders provided the family and his friends with hope and wisdom that we will all miss. Clifford, we will always love you dearly, may God bless and take you into his fold.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Wed., May 21, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. There will be a dinner at 6:00 PM, Thurs., May 22nd, at the home of Leslie and Charles Jessepe, 2512 SE Pennsylvania Ave., Topeka.
