Cliffa Oathout, 91, Topeka, died Thursday, February 6, 2014. She was born December 7, 1922, in Saline County, Illinois, to Willis and Lela Christy.
Cliffa was a member of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.
Cliffa married John W. Oathout on November 1, 1942, in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They moved their family to Topeka in 1960. John preceded her in death on December 16, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Geneva Lowry, and a great-grandson, Alex P. Ford.
Surviving are her children: John D. Oathout (Marjorie) of Silver Lake, Janet Gillespie (James) of Alma, Ruth Ann Jellison (Gary) of Topeka, and Jim Oathout (Nichole) of Topeka; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 10, 2014, at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 2835 SE Croco Road. Interment in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Cliffa will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sunday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM.
