Cleo (Snyder) King Alfrey, 79, Topeka, entered her Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
She was born December 10, 1938, in Circleville, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Grace (Clemetson) Snyder. She graduated from Holton High School and Clark's Business College.
On February 16, 1958, she married Gary King. For 30 years they owned and operated King's Laundry and King's Laundry Equipment Service, retiring in 2001. Gary preceded her in death on October 7, 1999.
Cleo married Paul L. Alfrey on July 29, 2000. He survives. Other survivors include her son, Lonnie (Michele) King, Como, CO; daughter, Laurie (John) Wayman, Topeka and son, Ashley (Sara) King, Flat Rock, NC; step-children, Ron (Dawna) Alfrey, Tecumseh; Steve (Karen) Alfrey, Auburn; Dan Alfrey, Topeka and Pamela (Scott) Goodman, Merriam, KS; brother, Milton Snyder, Circleville and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Zada Smith and Joyce Boyle.
Cleo was active member of Family of God Church where she served as Treasurer, part of the worship team and was a founding member of KFGB 97.7 FM Upper Room Radio.
During her life she taught Sunday school, worked in children's church and Women's Ministries. She was a Missionary Secretary and Treasurer. For four years, she preached in nursing homes and the women's prison in Topeka. She was a member of camping club and blue grass association. Cleo was a wonderful cook, loved to go camping, being active at her church and spending time with her family.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Family of God Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
