OBITUARY: Clayton James Bailey
Clayton James Bailey, 76, Silver Lake, died Fri., April 25, 2008, at Rossville Health Care. He was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Topeka, the son of Albert W. and Edith (Allen) Bailey.
Clayton worked for Alexander Bro. Bakery for 25 years and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 17 years of service. He was a former member of the Un. Presbyterian Church and Moose Lodge # 555. He was a K-State fan; enjoyed gardening; and was an avid fisherman. In his younger years he bowled.
Clayton was married to Pauline Marie Alfrey on March 18, 1950, in Topeka. She survives of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers: Wilford, Robert, LeRoy and Lester; and a sister: Alberta Womack.
Surviving are his wife: Pauline of the home; a son: Samuel D. Bailey of Silver Lake; 2 daughters: Patricia A. Ribordy of Topeka and Denise J. Caraway of Washington; 2 sisters: Rosie Mast of Meriden and Ethel Stubbs of Rossville; 3 brothers: William Bailey and Elmer Bailey both of Topeka, and Jim Bailey of Mayetta; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., April 29, 2008, at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Clayton will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday.
