Claudia Kersey

August 18, 1953 — July 30, 2021

Claudia Clare Kersey, 67, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021.

She was born August 18, 1953, in Moscow, Idaho, the daughter of Erich William and Marian Louise (Lesan) Naethe. She graduated from Topeka West High School in the 70s.

When it came to working, she wore many hats. She spent time as a Veterinarian Assistant, landscaping, animal control, bus driver and even carpentry.

Above all else, she had a strong love for her family, especially her granddaughters. She even adopted her children's friends and their kids into the family.

She loved arts and crafts and even drove racecars. She was a big Stephen King and Reba fan and enjoyed being outdoors. Boy Scouts played a role in her life; from going with her dad when she was a teen, to her son being involved when he was young.

Survivors include her children; daughter, Erica (Ryan) Herrera and son, Jeromy Naethe; siblings, Kendall (Gail) Naethe, Connie Gent, Kathryn Naethe, and Nancy (Richard) Baker; granddaughters, Elizebeth Kersey and Abigail Kersey-Herrera and her step-children, Kendra Booth and Joseph Kersey and their kids. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Caroline Sullivan.

There will be a Celebration of her Life Visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the Parker-Price Reception Center, 1940 NW Central Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
