OBITUARY: Clarice G. "Shorty" Wilcox
Clarice G. "Shorty" Wilcox, 98, Topeka, died Sun., July 5, 2009 at Topeka Community Health Care. She was born Feb. 28, 1911, at Tilden, NE, the daughter of Herbert L. and Ethel A. (Muckey) Catron. Shorty was a second mother to many; an animal lover; and an avid quilter. Surviving are a step-daughter and her family; sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tues., July 7, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Private interment in Topeka Cemetery. She will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Soceity, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka, KS 66617.
