OBITUARY: Clarence H. Lyden
Clarence H. Lyden, 86, Topeka, died Fri., March 23, 2012. He was born July 18, 1925, at Ft. Scott, the son of Weldon C. and Mabel L. (Jenkins) Lyden. Clarence was a carpenter and excavator in Topeka and the surrounding area since 1951. Clarence and Wilma previously owned Glenwood Real Estate, Glenco Excavating, and Ceramics Galore. He was a 50 year member of Albert Neese Lodge # 248, AF & AM; and a member of Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies, and Arab Shrine. He was married to Wilma Stewart on April 26, 1945. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harold and Everett Lyden; a grandson, James David Lady; a great-grandson, Matthew Lady; and a great-great-granddaughter, Marcella Musick. Surviving are 4 children: Sherry (Ron) Musick, Joetta (Gary) Lady, Jackie Sue Lyden all of Topeka, and Howard L. Lyden of Independence, MO; 3 brothers: Billy Lyden of Topeka, Charlie Lyden of Pittsburg, KS and DeWayne Lyden of Arkansas; 8 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Wed., March 28, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Albert Neese Lodge # 248, AF & AM, will conduct Masonic graveside services at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Clarence will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
