OBITUARY: Clarence F. "Fran" Miller

Clarence Francis "Fran" Miller, Jr., 86, Wakarusa, died July 15, 2009, at Midland Hospice House. He was born July 13, 1923, in Topeka, the son of Buena M. (Gooden) and Clarence F. Miller, Sr. He had worked for Cutler Repaving and the Carpenters' Union Local # 225. Fran was a former member of Moose Lodge # 555. He was married to Jean L. Bills, who preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 1997. He was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Miller, on Dec. 26, 1997. Surviving are a daughter: Susan J. Kennedy (Rick) of Wakarusa; a son: David Miller (Cheri) of Osage City; a sister: Marian Tipton of Topeka; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Mon., July 20, 2009, at Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger Road. Fran will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sun., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
