OBITUARY: Christopher James "Chris" Braden
Christopher James "Chris" Braden, 27, Topeka, died Sun., Oct. 15, 2006, in an automobile accident at 17th and S.W. Belle. He was born Jan. 1, 1979, at Topeka, the son of Vernon LeRoy and Jeanne Lynn (Hoffman) Braden. He graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Leasa E. (Lane) Braden; a son; Montgomery Alan Braden; and a step-son: Malachi Douglas all of Topeka; and a step-daughter: Makayla Lane of Delia; his mother and step-father: Jeanne and Larry McLaren of Mayetta; a brother: Joseph McLaren of Holton; a sister: Kim Braden of K.C., MO; and maternal grandmother: Rosella Hoffman of Topeka. He was preceded in death by a brother: Gregory Hoffman-Knutson; his father; grandmother: Betty Braden; step-grandmother: Virginia Nash; and grandfather: Charles D. Hoffman.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Fri., Oct. 20, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery. Christopher will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
