Charles W. Trueblood, 79, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at his home.
He was born January 12, 1926 in Alberta Canada, the son of Alva (Babe) and Vena Trueblood.
He was raised in the Burlingame area where his grandparents had homesteaded.
He served in WWII aboard a U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier in the Pacific Theater.
He worked at Topeka MillWorks over 30 years and later retired from Zach's as a truck driver.
He was a member of the Philip Billard Post #1650 V.F.W., the American Legion, and the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Bonnie Lou Trueblood. Survivors include his children
William P. Trueblood, Topeka; C. Ray and his wife Diane Trueblood, Denver, CO; Judy A. and her husband Gary Gomez, O.P., KS; Daryl W. Trueblood, Topeka; his brother Ralph Burgess, Topeka; his sister, Tillie Myers, Topeka; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mr. Trueblood was predeceased by a brother Lloyd Burgess and a sister Dorothy Burkett.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Penwell Gabel Parker Price Chapel. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Trueblood will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
