Charles Henry Sharp, 101, Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018.
He was born September 6, 1917, in Mill Point, West Virginia, the son of Joseph and Gertrude (Vaughn) Sharp. He was a US Army veteran serving during both World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Charles was a truck driver for Armco Steel for 35 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a past member of American Legion Post No.142 in Perry.
He was married to L. Leona Sharp and Dorothy Helen Nichols Sharp, both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Jean Register and Sue Shehan, a grandson, Scott Olin Register and 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter: Lorie (Dan) Taylor of Wilson, KS; son-in-law, Marvin Register of Jefferson City, MO; five grandchildren: Chuck (Susie) Register of Jefferson City, MO; Rick (Melissa) Register of Columbia, MO; Tim (Melissa) Taylor of Ellsworth, KS; Nicki Taylor-Morris of Concordia, KS and Cindy (Ron) Gaston of California and seven great-grandchildren: Alex, Lauren, Andre, Olin, Javon, Dylan and Abigail.
Visitation will begin 10 am Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, followed by memorial service at 11 am. Inurnment with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
