Charles Robert "Bob" Allen

Charles Robert "Bob" Allen, 69, of Topeka, died Thursday, February 19, 2015, at M.D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, TX. He was born September 3, 1945, in Okmulgee, OK, the son of Charles Kring and Edith Marie (Scott) Allen.

Bob graduated from Dorsey High School (Los Angeles, CA). He was in the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam. He graduated from Washburn University with a B.A. in Accounting. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1991. Bob was a member Central Park Christian Church and Holton Lodge # 42, A.F. & A.M. He was Past Associate Grand Guardian for Kansas Job's Daughters.

He was married to Helena Chalakee on April 26, 1969, in Okmulgee, OK. Helena preceded him in death on April 28, 1983. Bob was married to Judy Evans on February 14, 1984, in Topeka.

Surviving are his wife: Judy Allen of the home; six children: Becky Tholstrup of Wichita, Christina Stephens (Kelly) of Topeka, Angela Tackett (Jason) of Great Mills, MD, Elizabeth Ditch (Matthew) of Meriden, Robert Allen of Topeka, and Scott Allen of Topeka; four siblings: Lawrence Allen (Laura) of Hardy, AR, Scott Allen (Anna) of Carson City, NV, Phillip Allen (Wendy) of Palmdale, CA, and Carol Wheatley (Don) of Lancaster, CA; and nine grandchildren: Brandy Tholstrup, Gabrielle Tholstrup, Geoffrey Tholstrup, Shawndi Stephens, Renee Stephens, Caleb Ditch, Edward Tackett, Brianna Tackett, and Charlie Tackett. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Allen.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Masonic Services will be conducted at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka.

Bob will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 TO 7:00 PM.
