Charles W. Moore passed away on September 12, 2019 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor where he resided for the past 16 months. Charles was born on April 1, 1933, the son of Raleigh D. Moore and Hazel Marie French. Much of his childhood was spent in Hiawatha, Kansas where his Grandpa French’s love helped shape him into the man he became.
Charles married Barbara Sample in 1952. Two daughters were born of that union. Later, he married Sandra Nottingham. They were married until her death in 2012.
In 1958, Charles graduated from a sheet metal mechanic apprenticeship. He was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers International Local #2 from 1955 until his death. Much of this time was spent working for Stevenson’s Co., Inc.
Charles will be missed by his family who dearly loved him. He is survived by two daughters – Tammy (Roger) Luallin and “Cheri” (Ron) Miller; two granddaughters, Michelle Wallace and Shannon Melyayev and five great grandchildren: Isaiah, Jonah, Victoria, Merjen and Leyli.
Graveside services will be held on September 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Westlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Presbyterian Manor and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
