Charles "Chick" Groves

Charles "Chick" Groves, Topeka, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003. He was born in Arkansas the son of George and Minnie Groves. After a few years, he moved to Topeka, where he attended public schools. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked for C-G-F and Cargill Grain Elevator until he retired. He attended Family Life Church and bowled at Gage North for many years. Survivors include his wife, Susie Bertha Groves; two sisters, Betty Swenson, Magnolia, Texas, and Glenda Brooks, Missoula, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made toward building their first church to, Family Life Church, 4501 N.W. Westgate, Topeka, 66618, or Midland Hospice, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, 66606-2800.
