Charles Flowers

Charles L. Flowers, 66, Wichita, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 at Harry Hynes Hospice. He was born April 30, 1938 , at Topeka, the son of Ress T. and Nettie B. Michael Flowers. He was born and raised in Topeka and had lived in Wichita since 1985. He was a Truck Driver for Lawrence Freight Line for 17 years. He was a member of Local 696. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. Surviving are a son, Danny E. Flowers Haysville, KS; daughter, Hanna A. Thornton, Missouri; daughter, Cahterine M. Flowers, Wichita, KS; son, Jonathan L. Flowers, Haysville, KS; son, Thomas Flowers, Rose Hill, KS; daughter, Belinda M. Neff, Goddard, KS; daughter Donna M. Flowers, Granbury, TX; daughter, Misty Tillman, Topeka, KS; son, Roy L. Flowers, Topeka, KS; step son, Donnie Williams, Topeka, KS; brother, Gerald R. Flowers, Wichita, KS; brother,William E. Flowers, Topeka, KS; sister, Velda M. Lake, Topeka, KS; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 10, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka.
Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery Topeka, KS
where military honors will be conducted by a U.S. Army Ft. Riley Detail.
Mr. Flowers will lie in state after 3:00 pm Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
