Charles W. Hockenbarger, 91, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021.
He was born July 14, 1929, in Morris County, Kansas, the son of Karl A. and Katherine F. (Heugal) Hockenbarger. He was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Charles was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Topeka until retiring in 1985 after 34 years of service.
He was a member of the Local #307 Rubber Workers Union and was a member of Heartland Worship Center, in Topeka.
He loved feeding squirrels. He would buy a 50 pound bag of peanuts and make sure all of them were fed. They were his best friends. He enjoyed walking outside. In his younger years he loved to fish and hunt and be outside. Charles read the Bible daily and loved to spend time with his children, and grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his loving Wife, Mary; Children, Karl D. Hockenbarger, Harold D. Hockenbarger, and Carol (Donald) Bogard; and Brother, James M. Hockenbarger; 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, as well as a host of extended family.
He was preceded in death by both parents; and his brothers, Robert D. Hockenbarger and Eugene A. Hockenbarger.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, in Topeka.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, 10:00 am at the Heartland Worship Center Church of God, 1401 NW Harrison Street in Topeka, Kansas, with Pastor David McGinnis, officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka.
