Charles Alvin Flowers

Charles Alvin "Buddy" Flowers, 75, of Oskaloosa, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at a Lawrence hospital. He was born on February 2, 1931 in Topeka, the son of Alvin and Frances Richards Flowers. He attended Topeka High School. He lived in Topeka before moving to Oskaloosa in 1962. He owned and operated a dairy farm. Charles also refinished hardwood floors for many years. He was raised in the North Topeka Baptist Church. Survivors include three siblings, Betty Ann Remfry of Topeka, Robert Flowers of Oskaloosa and Jim Flowers of St. Louis, MO, and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Jean Flowers and Nancy Louise Flowers. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence Ave. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery. Charles will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. this evening at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W. Rochester Rd., Topeka, KS 66617.
