OBITUARY: Cecil G. Bowers, Jr.
Cecil G. Bowers, Jr., 82, Topeka died April 14, 2005 at his home. He was born Nov. 3, 1922 at Topeka the son of Viola M. (Chandler) Bowers and Cecil G. Bowers, Sr.
Cecil was graduated from Seaman High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for 4 years during World War II. He was a mechanic for Lewis Toyota and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He married Lillian A. Eurich on June 27, 1955.
Surviving are his wife: Lillian; 2 children: Patricia Pearce and Thomas Liley; 3 sisters: Gleneda Setterstrom, Fawna Lewis, and Lucille Wells; and 4 grandchildren: Noel, Heather, Jeremy, and Drew.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Mon., April 18, 2005 at Bethel Baptist Church, 4011 N Kansas Ave. A Fort Riley U.S. Army Detail will conduct military honors at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Bowers will lie in state after 12:00 noon Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Topeka, 1033 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66604.
