Carroll Benton Owen
Carroll Benton Owen, 74, Perry, died Thursday, July 10, 2014. He was born December 20th, 1939, in Searcy County, Arkansas, the third and youngest son of Frank and Mary Keeling Owen.
He was a graduate of St. Joe, Arkansas High School. Carroll was an employee of Fairmont Roberts in Kansas until his retirement in 2004.
Carroll married Shirley Nichols Owen on June 8th, 1987, in Oklahoma. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include, stepson Shaun M. Hoover from Topeka; stepdaughter Marcie Ensley and husband, John M. Ensley, Jr. of Hoyt; two granddaughters: Amanda Holbrook and husband, Kevin, of Perry, and Cassie Serna and husband, Rene, of Holton.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Western Grove Cemetery, Western Grove, Arkansas. Carroll will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County Humane Society, 15295 K-4 Highway, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
