Caroline M. Long Obituary
Caroline M. Long, 79, of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., formerly of Topeka,
passed away, Sunday, November 20, 2005.
She was born March 7, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of José Luis
and Edith Pearl Rodriguez.
She was married to Derrell K. Long, also of Topeka, who preceded her in
death April 22, 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Carlene M. Long;
two sons, Derrell K. Long, Jr. and James P. Long; four grandchildren,
James, Katrina, Schaun and Michael; a brother, Tino Rodriguez; and a
number of other relatives, most residing in Topeka.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Long was a member of Community
Grace Brethren Church of Whittier, Calif., where she was a Sunday
school teacher of young children. Throughout her adult life she was an
active volunteer in various community and religious causes and
organizations.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Parker
Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, Kansas. Burial will
follow in Rochester Cemetery. Mrs. Long will lie in state after 12:00
noon Sunday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends
from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be given to
