Carol Sue (Lutz) Faulk, 72, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Carol was born November 19, 1941 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Wallace Henry and Jeanette O'Dell (Israel) Lutz. She was a 1959 graduate of Topeka High School. She worked at Josten's American Yearbook and later opened a licensed home daycare (Carol Care). She retired in 2006 after 35 years. Her love for children kept her busy through multiple generations of children.
Carol was a very active member of Crestview United Methodist Church, Topeka. She enjoyed arts and crafts and driving vacations, especially through the mountains in the fall.
Carol married Willis M. Faulk on January 19, 1963 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Kimberly (David) Padilla, Topeka; a son, Christopher (Julie) Faulk, Havensville, KS; a granddaughter, Shelby Faulk; a grandson, Dylan Faulk; a sister, Donna (Jim) Corber, Davenport, IA; and a brother, Wallace H. (Kim) Lutz, Jr., Berryton, KS; an uncle, Lester Israel, Topeka; and lots of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Carol will lie in state after 3 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St #100, Topeka, KS 66614 or to Alzheimer's Association, 4125 Gage Ctr.
