Carol Sue Jenks, 75, of Mayetta, passed away on December 1, 2021.
Sue was born on November 27, 1946 to Lester and Erma (Redenbaugh) Jenks in Topeka, KS.
Sue worked as a bookkeeper for Walgreens for 41 years before retiring.
Sue loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was Hailey's biggest fan while participating in the Special Olympics. Sue was very proud of all of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She enjoyed going to garage sales with her family, playing bingo with her sisters, making casino trips with her family, and getting manicures and pedicures. Sue also had an ornery side and knew how to make you laugh.
She loved to travel and visit her sisters in Florida and California, and enjoyed camping with her family. Sue made her biggest bucket list wish come true when she was a contestant on the Price is Right.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Terry) Hansford; grandchildren, Breeanna (Jeff) Soendker, Hailey Hansford, and Brenden Hansford; great grandchildren, Eastyn Soendker and Ensley Soendker; and siblings, Lois (Bob) Holmes, Judy Murphy, and Bill (Dana) Jenks.
Sue was preceded in death by both of her parents; siblings, Leroy Jenks, Floyd "Bud" Jenks, Lorene Alverson, Mary Burch, Helen Gehrke, Hazel Malone, Mona Lou and Leila Jenks, Betty Clifton, James "Jim" Jenks, and Daniel Jenks.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021, 5:00 pm at Parker-Price Funeral Home in Topeka.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, 10:00 am at the Parker-Price Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Azura Credit Union in care of the Carol Sue Jenks Memorial Fund to be used for a tree of remembrance and education expenses for her great grandchildren, Eastyn and Ensley Soendker.
