Carol Ann Essman

Carol A. Essman, age 81, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Stormont Vail Hospital.  Carol was born January 5, 1941 in Clifton, KS the daughter of George and Ruby Short.  She graduated from Clifton High School.  She married Johnny Essman June 29, 1973.  She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Topeka as a manager.

Carol is survived by her husband, Johnny of over 48 years; two sons, Tim (Lisa) Anderson of Auburn and Tom (Roxanne) Anderson of Pawnee Rock, KS; two daughters, Connie Rae (Jerry) Walden of Topeka and Penny (Ron) Hamilton of Council Grove, KS; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a brother, George Short, a sister, Virginia Robinson, and a grandson, Jerry Walden, Jr.

Carol enjoyed going to car shows with Johnny, knitting, crocheting, reading and watching K.U. basketball games.

Memorial services will be Monday, March 28, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Inurnment will be at the Grantville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
