Carla C. Mendez

Carla C. Mendez, age 75, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.  Carla was born October 21, 1946 in Salina, Kansas the daughter of Richard and Redora (Carter) Ford.  She graduated from Minneapolis High School.  She married John Mendez, they later divorced.  Later in life, she worked at KNI, Kmart, Dillon's and Kohls.  She also had worked at DAV for several years.  She enjoyed painting and drawing.  She especially loved her dogs over the years.

Carla is survived by two sons, Darin (Cecelia) Mendez of Lacygne, KS and Anthony Mendez of Topeka; a sister, Laura (Don) Gilger of Emporia; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at The Apostolic Church in Topeka.  Inurnment will be privately held at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
