Carl Sloan
Carl Sloan, 79, Tecumseh, died Thursday, January 19, 2017, at his home. He was born January 28, 1937, at Randolph, the son of Mable (Guthrie) and Darreld Sloan, Sr.
Carl was a member of Carpenters' Local # 1445 for almost 20 years. He was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Topeka Home Builders Association and Topeka North Post # 400, of the American Legion. Carl was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Surviving are two children: Carla Sloan of Overland Park, and Rick Sloan of Warsaw, MO; three step-children: Jack Pahmahmie, Jr., Deanna Pahmahmie-Anderegg, and Linda Pahmahmie-Sherman all of Topeka; three siblings: Sharon Holmes, Bonnie Pinick , and Darreld Sloan, Jr., all of Topeka; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was recently preceded in death by a sister, Shirley LaRue.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Carl will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
