Carl F. Sigg, 95, of Topeka, passed away, Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Brewster Place. Carl was born in Soldier, Kansas January 18, 1910 the son of Henry and Mary Sigg whom immigrated from Switzerland and was a mail carrier and farmer in Soldier.
Carl married Lina M. Shoyer on February 29, 1936, in Holton, Kansas, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Mayer Shoyer. Carl graduated from Soldier High School in 1928 and attended Washburn University. He farmed and was owner/operator of the Soldier grocery store and locker plant. Carl and Lina moved to Topeka in 1951 with their three children and have lived in the Seaman District and recently moved to Brewster Place. The majority of his career was spent in the farm implement business representing several lines over the years. He retired from Westendorf Manufacturing in 1990 where he was held in high esteem for his salesmanship and being a great part of the team.
Their oldest daughter Kitty Cooper and husband Steve live in Overland Park, KS. Daughter Nancy and son-in-law Ron Stous reside in Topeka. Son Steve Sigg and his wife Paula live in Lexington, KY. Carl enjoyed his family very much and was a loving, husband, father and grandfather remembered fondly for his great sense of humor and admiration for all members of the family. He enjoyed very much seeing his children succeed in all walks of life. There are 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mary Sigg and two brothers, Paul Sigg and Raymond Sigg.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Brewster Place Chapel. Committal services will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at Rochester cemetery.
Mr. Sigg will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
