Calvin D. Ott, 96, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at his home.
He was born March 17, 1925, in Valley Falls, Kansas, the son of Omer and Margaret (Hamon) Ott. He graduated from Valley Falls High School.
Calvin joined the funeral industry and started his career with Penwell Gabel Mid-Town serving many roles throughout the funeral home. He later transferred to Parker Price Funeral Home and retired in October 2007.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, of Topeka for 67 years. During his time with the church, he served as the Sunday School Secretary.
Calvin was the property manager of the Santa Fe Band for nearly 40 years and was apart of the Knife and Fork Club of Topeka.
He enjoyed the Great Adventure Tours to different theaters across mid-west with his wife and daughter. Calvin and Elaine traditionally went out to eat at McFarlands on Sunday afternoons. He had a collection of John Deere tractors and loved his house cats.
Calvin married Elaine Esther Buss on March 6, 1949 in Holton, Kansas. She preceded him in passing on April 15, 2008. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Ott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister, Lila Harmon and brother, Dale Ott.
A visitation will be held from 6:00pm -8:00pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Parker Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, Kansas. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am., Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 2627 SW Western, Topeka, Kansas. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church 2627 SW Western, Topeka, KS 66611 or to the Topeka Santa Fe Band.
