Buddy G. Largent, 78, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born February 3, 1928 in Seneca, KS, the son of Orville L. and Nancy Ann "Irene" Ridgway Largent.
He was a 1947 graduate of Seneca Public High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Army as a Military Policeman and served two tours of duty in the Korean Conflict. He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy as a retail manager, retiring after 33 years of service. After retiring he worked for Dillons Grocery for 10 years. He also worked for the Athletic Dept. at Washburn University and volunteered at St. Francis Medical Center for 10 years.
He married Martha J. "Marty" Sims on April 14, 1951 in Seneca, KS. She survives. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gerry Luckeroth of Topeka.
Other survivors include two daughters, Gayle (Jack) Carver, Sharon (LeRoy) Rice, both of Topeka; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a sister, Eileen Wray of Jacksonville, Fl.
Mr. Largent was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, August 21 at the Community Church, 21st & Jewell, with inurnment to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
