OBITUARY: Brian Alan Koon
Brian Alan Koon, 43, Topeka, died Thurs., March 10, 2011, at Stormont-Vail Hospital after a short illness. He was born May 10, 1967, in Manhattan, the son of Barbara A. (Helget) and Raymond H. Koon, Jr. Brian lived in St. Marys and Manhattan before moving to Topeka where he graduated from Seaman High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Adams Business Forms, the U.S. Post Office, and Hallmark. On June 18, 1994, Brian was married to Yvonne A. Huss. They later divorced. Surviving are a daughter: Lindsey Koon of Topeka; a son: Jacob Koon of Topeka; grandmother: Maxine Koon of Manhattan; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Sat., March 19, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Private interment will be at later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lindsey and Jacob Koon Scholarship Fund c/o US Bank, 719 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
