Brenda K. Lister was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and believer in Jesus Christ. She died on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at age 63. She spent her final days surrounded by loved ones.
She was born to Lee and Joanne (Treiber) Stanley on January 7, 1959. After graduating from Seaman High School, Brenda made a career as a Phlebotomist at St. Francis and then Stormont Vail Hospital. She married Terry Allen Lister July 31, 1990. Brenda was so happy to marry "Terry from church" and his three children, Christina, Jennifer, and Willie. Together they had Daniel. Terry and Brenda attended Lion and Lamb Church.
Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandbabies. She took great pride in her role as being a grandma. She loved attending her Bible studies, and spending time with her church friends. Brenda loved watching the Chiefs, Jayhawks, and K-State football. She enjoyed fishing, and sitting in the backyard under the shade tree, with her dog, Molly.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Terry Lister of Topeka; two sons,
Daniel Lister and William Lister of Topeka; two daughters Christina (George) Stevenson of Topeka and Jennifer (Daniel) Cook of Raeford, North Carolina; father, Lee Stanley of Ozawkie; 2 sisters, Susan Grey of Valley Falls and Kellie (Les) Puderbaugh of Independence; two brothers, Mark Stanley of Topeka and Scott (Wendi) Stanley of Ozawkie; sister-in-law, Sheryl Stanley of Goddard; and grandchildren, Kiersten Lackey, Kaitlynn Lackey, Jackson Lackey, Johnathan Lackey, Hannah Cook, Lily Cook, Ashlyn Cook, Titus Cook, Isaac Cook, Noah Cook, Faith Cook, Silas Cook, and baby Cook on the way, Payton Lister, and Porter Lister.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Stanley; brothers, Doug Stanley and David Stanley; and grandchildren, Greg Lackey, Braden Lackey, and Ella Cook.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lion and Lamb Church, 2401 SW Belle Ave, Topeka, KS 66614.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at Lion and Lamb Church.
Graveside Service will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka, Kansas.
