Brenda Kay Hart, 77, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
She was born March 18, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Herbert Preston and Esther (Nisbeth) Bennett. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1964.
Brenda was employed part-time at a fabric store while raising her children, where she developed her love for sewing. She finished her career as a medical secretary at EBA Medical Center, where she worked for ten years.
Mrs. Hart was a lifelong member of North Topeka.
Brenda married Marvin Andrew Hart on June 14, 1964 in Topeka. He survives, along with her children Brian Hart (Deidre) and Loriann Marx (Dan), both of Olathe; grandchildren Derrick Hart (Amy), Dylan Hart, Bryce Hart, Luke Marx (Albree), Logan Marx (Callie) and Lance Marx; along with six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings Dale Bennett and Joyce Bennett.
Brenda was an avid reader and enjoyed painting, crocheting, sewing her grandchildren's Halloween costumes, planting flowers, feeding and watching birds from her living room and playing board games with her grandchildren at family gatherings. She loved attending all of her grandchildren's activities - including sports and theater performances.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parker-Price Davidson Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 245 NW Independence Avenue in Topeka. Interment will be at Rochester Cemetery at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to TARC, 2701 SW Randolph, Topeka, KS 66611 or the Capper Foundation, 3500 W. 10th, Topeka, KS 66604.
