She was born on January 27, 1934 to Harry and Lola (Sill) DeHart in Topeka, KS.
Bonnie graduated from Seaman High School in 1952. She married Wayne McNorton on August 25, 1950 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Wayne then joined the military and together they traveled during the early part of his military career.
Bonnie started working for Hallmark Cards for a short time while Wayne was in Korea. When Wayne returned, they settled down and started their family in northern Shawnee County.
Later in life Bonnie finished her career as a GED Examiner at Lawrence-Gardner High School, before retiring after 25 years. She served on many event committees for the high school as well.
Bonnie and Wayne were lifetime members of the North Topeka Saddle Club since1959. She enjoyed working the concession stands. She was a project leader, community leader, and county leader in 4-H. Bonnie also taught home economics and gardening to 4-H youth. Bonnie was also a bowling instructor for Gage North Bowling Alley and a Sunday school teacher for Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She loved her family and having them over when ever they could. She would always fix large meals for everyone to enjoy at her home.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Karl (Brenda) McNorton, Kendra (Rick) Stover, Cindy (Joseph) Johnson, Thomas (Lori) McNorton, Wade (Julie) McNorton, and Steve (Cara) McNorton; siblings, Virginia Perkins, Ronnie DeHart, Sandy (Larry) Smith, and Joe (David) DeHart; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson; and host of extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne; both of her parents; siblings, Patty Collins, Wanda McKay, and Lorraine Billings; and grandson, Casey McNorton.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Parker-Price Funeral Home in Topeka, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, 10:00 am at the Parker-Price Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at a later date at Rochester Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee County 4-H or to the North Topeka Saddle Club.
