Bonnie Lee Edwards 78, was born in Topeka, Kansas to Orlando Hamilton Dandridge and Frances Dandridge.
She was a graduate of Topeka High School, Class of 1964.
On July 31, 1964 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She maintained her integrity throughout her entire life leaving a legacy of tender care of the older sisters in her congregation, showing loyal love to her family and friends, and showing devout faithfulness to the love of her life & husband, Stephen J. Edwards. She always gave her very best to Jehovah. Recently she was beginning to enjoy different forms of the ministry, such as letter writing. She also, despite her own personal circumstances loved to send thank you and sympathy cards to different ones.
Bonnie married Stephen J. Edwards May 21, 1988, making this year their 36th year wedding anniversary.
Steve lovingly called her Tweet!
Together they became a power couple in the secular field and as volunteers in their local Christian Congregation. They had several secular achievements together. The one which she was most proud of is being a co-founder of ICM (Industrial Cleaning and Maintenance).
Stephen loved Bonnie and was by her bed side down to her last breath on September 7, 2024. Not even death can break the bond that they have for one another as Song of Solomon 8:6,7 states:
“ Place me as a seal upon your heart, As a seal upon your arm, For love is as strong as death is, And exclusive devotion is as unyielding as the Grave. Its flames are a blazing fire, the flame of Jah. Surging waters cannot extinguish love, Nor can rivers wash it away. […]”
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Frances and Orlando Dandridge. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Stephen J. Edwards and her cousin, Deborah Dandridge, and Nikki, their precious fur baby.
Space doesn’t allow room to mention the multitude of family and friends that loved her dearly. While we are all devastated by her passing, we look forward to her resurrection on Paradise Earth, ‘just around the corner’. And when she returns, she’ll say, “Good morning!” At the sound of Jesus’ voice, just as those were her last words. -John 5:28,29
