Bobby Lee Williams, Sr., 81, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 peacefully at his home.
He was born August 3, 1928 in Topeka, KS, the son of Hayward and Nina E. (Brown) Williams. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, stationed in the Pacific and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Europe during WW II.
He was employed for 22 years for Consumer Sand, retiring in 1990.
Bobby married Genevieve F. Halstead on May 14, 1949 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1995. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Lee Roy and Ronnie Lee Williams. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Jo Williams; a step-daughter, Patty Jo Neeley; three sons, Bobby L. Williams, Jr., Donald E. Williams, and Steve E. Williams; two brothers, Hayward Williams, Jr., and Dick Williams; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and his companion, Loreen McGinnis.
Mr. Williams was cremated. No services are planned. Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel is assisting the family.
