Bobby Dean Seckinger
Bobby Dean Seckinger, 76, Topeka, died Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Autumn Home Plus II. He was born October 8, 1939, in Topeka, the son of Ralph Eugene and Chelsea Blanche (Mathia) Seckinger.
He graduated from Topeka High School and served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He was a mail clerk, retiring from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years of service.
Bobby was a member of Topeka North Post # 400 of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Elizabeth (Barham) Seckinger on June 20, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Seckinger; and two grandsons, Scott Nevill and Bobby Sullivan.
Surviving are daughters: Wanda Deno of Topeka, Debbie Moore of Topeka, Diane Morgan of Topeka, and Shirley Chapman of Peachtree City, GA; sisters: Ethel Thompson, Opal Senogles, Treva Frisbie, and Cherie Seckinger all of Topeka; sister-in-law: D.J. Day of Topeka; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 29, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Private interment of cremains will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka.
Bobby will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
