Blanche L. Evans

Blanche L. Evans, 103, Topeka, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, in Topeka. She was born March 8, 1901, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Howard C. and Ida E. Knouse Evans. Blanche was raised in White City and graduated from high school there. She moved to Topeka in 1920, where she attended Topeka Business College. She was employed by W. R. Fish Insurance Co. and later had her own insurance agency, Blanche L. Evans Insurance Agency. She was a member of Central Park Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 60 years. Survivors include a niece, Genevieve Collins, Topeka; and two nephews, Cecil Simonton, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Donald Evans, Belle Vista, Ark. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will be in Valley Falls Cemetery in Valley Falls. Blanche L. Evans will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel after noon today. Memorial contributions ma y be made to Northland Christian Church, Central Park Christian Church Project, 3102 N.W.
