Billy "Bill" John Stewart

Billy “Bill” J. Stewart, age 91, of Topeka, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 in Topeka. Bill was born June 23, 1926 in Bend, Oregon the son of Jack and Helen Shanelec Stewart. After moving to Sylvan Grove at a young age, Bill graduated from Sylvan Grove High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1945 – 1948. He then graduated from Kansas State University in 1954. He married Clarelyn Guggisberg December 21, 1952 in Sylvan Grove, Kansas. He worked for the State of Kansas as a consultant. He later worked for Santa Fe Railroad. He was a longtime member of Topeka Bible Church. He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Clarelyn; a son, Mike Stewart of Topeka; two daughters, Julie (Lynn) Harrison of Topeka and Jill Barnes of Topeka; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Topeka Bible Church. Visitation will be one hour before services, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Church.
