Beverly Jean (Zimmerman) Parnell, 86, Topeka, died Saturday, December 9, 2023, at The Gardens At Aldersgate, surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was born October 24,1937 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of John and Teresa (Dornblaser) Zimmerman. Bev lived in Topeka most of her life, retiring from St. Francis Hospital. She shared a special loving relationship with her constant companion, John HF Jones. Together they promoted dirt track auto racing in Topeka and Kansas City. John proceeded her in death.
Survivors include daughters Connie (Steve) Cahoone of Emporia and Colleen (Mike) Weilert of Wamego; two bonus sons, Ed (Dawn) Southall and Charles H (Stacy) Jones of Topeka, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday December 15, 2023 at Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW Seventeenth St, Topeka. A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow.
Please "Come Have a Taco On Us" at Bev's favorite place to eat, Taco Villa, 5300 SW 21st, Topeka directly following the service.
