OBITUARY: Beulah V. Schutter Sauls
Beulah V. Schutter Sauls, 88, Topeka, died Tues., June 2, 2009, at Stormont-Vail. She was born Dec. 27, 1920, at Paxico the daughter of John and Mabel (Buchmeir) Shumaker. She attended District No. 33 Greenwood School south of Belvue in Wabaunsee County and Paxico High School. Beulah worked at various vocations – A.O.U.W. Ins. Co., KS Power & Light Co., First Nat'l Bank of Topeka, and Jayhawk Food Dealer Assoc. (17 years). She had volunteered at Let's Help. Beulah was an avid walker; her hobbies also included gardening, quilt making, and sewing. She was married to Melvin Schutter in April, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1944. She married A.L. "Junie" Sauls on May 5, 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1999. Surviving are a son: Timothy E. Sauls of Newark, TX; 2 daughters: Jacquelyn A. Shea of Topeka and Karen L. Spica of St. Charles, MI; a sister: Betty Karst of Wamego; 7 grandchildren: Scott, TeriAnn, Stephanie, Tanner, Allison, Jenna, and Melissa; 4 great-grandchildren: Ashlea, Carmen, Veronica, and Scott E.; and a great-great-grandson: Tryston. Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon, Sat., June 6, 2009, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Beulah will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Fri., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
